Submitting a senior dog — FAQ
Who can submit a senior dog?
Anyone — a shelter, a rescue, or a member of the public who has spotted an adoptable senior dog. Submitting helps make sure older dogs who might be overlooked get added and seen.
What happens after I submit a dog?
Every submission is reviewed before it appears on the site. This keeps listings accurate and makes sure each dog links back to the shelter or rescue caring for them.
How can a shelter or rescue update or remove a listing?
Shelters and rescues are welcome to reach out any time to update details, correct information, or ask that a listing be taken down. Most listings also refresh automatically from the source, and anyone can flag a specific dog's listing for review using the report link on its profile.
Does it cost anything to use Lily's Second Chance?
No. Searching and browsing is completely free, and shelters and rescues are never charged to have their senior dogs listed. Adoption fees, when they apply, are set by the individual shelter or rescue — not by Lily's Second Chance.
