Meet Edward

EDWARD NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Edward Best Guess for Breed: Lab and wire haired terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 8 years as of July 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 58 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. See a video od Edward's rescue here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nx3tXBeO-Gs Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Edward is Looking For: As you can see in the video above, Edward was rescued off the street in Puerto Rico - he is a sato. We don't know if he was on the street for all of his approximately eight years, but we do know it's a very hard life and this lovely, sweet gentleman deserves better. He is looking forward to getting his own humans for sniffy walks and gentle exploration. And a cushy dog bed and quality kibble. But above all, he wants to know he's safe and loved for all his days, that he will never have to sleep on the street or scrounge for food again. In exchange he has so many adoring gazes - so much loyalty to give. What do you say? Are you Edward's next - and forever - chapter? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has spent time in foster care. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
