Meet GERALD
Meet Gerald! His story began with heartbreak, but we're hoping it ends with the loving family he has always deserved. This sweet boy was found abandoned alongside his two female canine companions. All three dogs were underweight when they arrived at the shelter, making it clear they hadn't received the care they needed for quite some time. Despite everything he's been through, Gerald has remained incredibly kind, gentle, and trusting. Because Gerald came to us as a stray, we don't know much about his life before arriving at the shelter. Since coming into our care, we introduced him to another male dog during a structured meet and greet, and the interaction was not successful. It's possible Gerald is only comfortable with the female dogs he arrived with or that he may not do well with other male dogs. For this reason, we recommend he be the only dog in the home or that any potential canine companions be carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis. His history with cats is unknown. Gerald is calm and has an easygoing personality. He enjoys being close to his people and welcomes gentle affection, especially from those who let him approach at his own pace. His sweet nature shines through in every interaction, and he has handled shelter life with remarkable resilience. Now that he's gaining weight and receiving the love and care he deserves, Gerald is ready for the next chapter of his life—a home where he'll never have to wonder where his next meal is coming from or whether he'll be left behind again. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Gerald may be the perfect match. He deserves a family that will show him what forever truly means.
