Meet BEAR
Part-Time Retriever, Full-Time CharmerMeet Bear, a lovable goofball with a big heart and an even bigger love for tennis balls! He enjoys playing fetch… sort of. Sometimes Bear follows the traditional rules, and sometimes he invents his own version by dropping the ball wherever he pleases and encouraging you to do the retrieving. Fair is fair, right? When he’s not supervising your fetch technique, Bear can be found splashing around in a kiddie pool, soaking up the good life. He currently lives with another dog and has done well sharing his space. Bear already knows sit, down, and paw/shake, and he’s highly motivated by treats, making him a fun student for anyone looking to continue his training. On walks, he can get a little excited and pull at times, but he’s generally easy to handle and responds well to consistent guidance. One thing about Bear: he loves his people. If he can see you but can’t be with you, he’ll let you know he misses you. His affectionate nature means he’s happiest when he’s part of the action and included in family life. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal companion with plenty of personality, Bear is ready to win your heart—one game of fetch (his way) at a time. Bear has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match!
