Meet Wilbert Newark

Meet Wilbert, a handsome, short, and stocky Bulldog mix pulled into our rescue from a local inner-city shelter. This charming fellow is 8 years old and weighs a solid 75 pounds, with a personality that’s as big as he is. Wilbert gets along well with other dogs and is a friendly pup. He’s a smart cookie who knows the sit command and comes when called. He’s also crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. Despite his size, Wilbert has a surprising amount of energy and an almost comical obsession with tennis balls! He’ll chase them down tirelessly and might just try to carry around as many as he can at once, all while showing off his big grin. Wilbert does best in an adult-only home where his family understands that he gets spooked if people get too close to his face, so he needs an owner who respects this boundary. If you’re ready to welcome Wilbert Newark into your heart and home, head over to www.ehrdogs.org to fill out an adoption application!
